Well it’s coming up midday in the U.K. which makes it lunch time here, so what are people eating?
I’ve gone slightly U.S. with a McSven burger (x2), French’ed fries and a bottle of East Coast IPA.
The contents of the McSven are burger bun base, beef pattie, cheese slice, burger sauce, another burger bun base, beef pattie, cheese slice, fine chopped shallots, pickled gherkin, crispy streaky bacon (U.S. style bacon) and topped with a well, er, burger bun top.

What? Your in Milan and going to Chinatown?
Your not eating but at the Last Supper?
Is this a U.S. thing. I’m lost.
Good luck all the same.

Nice to see such a healthy meal with all the main food groups covered. Alcohol? Check. Sugar? Check. E numbers? Check. Rasher? Check.

Ye’, but it was sooooooo good.

I had airline chicken and rice. Not great but could’ve been worse.

Italy has some amazing restaurants off the beaten track. I’d be embracing all the food and wine I could.
I didn’t lol. They had food at The Last Supper though.

Those burgers look excellent! It’s 8am here in Ohio. I would totally eat a cheeseburger right now.
Here’s an American tip: if you have access to Tartar Sauce...try it on that same burger you just made instead of “burger sauce”. It’s my favorite way to do it up.
Cheers! Happy New Year!

Ye’, food on an airline never tastes great. It’s to do with altitude and air pressure.

Cheers, they were amazing.
I’m not a fan of tartare sauce. It’s okay with battered fish though.
The burger sauce is Colman’s Burger Sauce. It tastes almost exactly like McDonalds Bigmac sauce.

Oh wow! That’s cool. Is that a UK brand? I don’t think we have that over here. And that’s rather funny, isn’t it? Not being able to buy Big Mac Sauce here in the states!
And Tartar Sauce is very polarizing. People either love it or hate it. So I understand your feelings. I’m attaching a photo of a “Big Boy”. Which is basically a Big Mac with Tartar sauce instead of McDonald’s Mac sauce.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my opinion that the British names for both French Fries and potato chips are superior to the (aforementioned) American ones.

Colman’s is a U.K. brand but you should be able to get some from a Brit Ex-Pat store in the U.S. If not, I can send some over with some Colman’s Tartare Sauce.
Battered fish or scampi, chips and tartare sauce is okay. I couldn’t eat it with anything else.

Oh wow! Thanks! I’ll look into whether I can find that brand. Happy motoring!

Here here good sir.
Have some Chip Shop chips and a bag of crisps to that.

I got up late, so for me it was a slightly off croissant, and shortly to be some coffee.

You should be able to get some on the internet such as eBay.
But again as I say, if not, just say.

Hmmmm. Coffee sounds good. I was just thinking what to have. I’ve Marston’s EPA, Guinness Draught, East Coast IPA and Shipyard American IPA but a coffee sounds good.
Comedian John Bishop’s dad once said “a croissant is just an empty pasty”.
Enjoy, all the same.

I’ve pondered before the advantages of an “enhanced” coffee here at work, but sadly as a manufactory there can’t be any alcohol on the premises. I’m told that years ago this was not the case, and that there was an end-of-day keg in the break room. Ah well.

Ah the good old days. Just pretend it’s an Irish Coffee.
I’ll join you in a Lungo coffee.

I had generic Honey Nut Cheerios in milk,…for breakfast. Because it’s not lunch time yet. It’s not really good, but it’s not horrible & its cheap, easy/quick, and not horrible for my health.

Cereal is always good especially when it has honey and nut in it.

yeah, I ate Italian food. I just meant that I wanted to check out Chinatown.

Your burger to fries ratio is way off.
Maybe it’s just me but I enjoy the fries almost as much as the burger that I would gladly forfeit the 2nd burger for way more fries.

My bad, my mind is always thinking about food.
The weather is crap here so can’t get any cars cleaned so my mind is trying to occupy itself with my other loves, food and drink.
I hope you enjoy your time in Italy. I’m now lusting after a nice limoncello and a good chianti classico. Hmmm.

I could of just made one but it’s a lot of effort to just make one so made two, though I was pretty much done after the first.

Thank you. Oh well, can't svend today cleaning car. How about tomorrow?
![]() 12/31/2015 at 10:38 |

Tomorrow is set to be the same weather-wise. About 5 degrees U.K. (or 41 of your U.S. degrees) with sporadic showers. :(
But I hear steak, mash, onion rings and peppercorn sauce and a bottle of Shipyard calling my name. ;)

Not really but thanks for the sentiment. Lol.
Make sure you get some down time to just sit and just ‘be’.
Italy is the best place to just ‘be’, the food is amazing, the drink is outstanding, weather mostly great and the scenery similar to that of my home county. So enjoy it.
